Start with the name and ZIP. Add details anytime.

Brand or generic name is fine.

How will you pay?

Pharmacies send cash quotes. Starts nationwide; change it in Advanced search.

What do you need help with?

My pharmacy is out, or I don’t know who has it.

A pharmacy needs the exact strength, form, and quantity before it can confirm stock or give a price. You can add them now or later.

Prescription details
Where do I find these on my label?
  • Strength: Next to the medication name, such as “20 mg” or “2 mg/1.5 mL.”
  • Form: Tablet, capsule, pen, inhaler, and so on. It is usually printed after the strength.
  • Release type: Letters after the name, such as ER, XR, XL, or DR. No letters usually means standard release.
  • Quantity: Look for “Qty” or “#” on the label, such as “Qty: 30.”

No label handy? Your pharmacy, your prescriber’s office, or your patient portal can tell you the exact details. You can still start with the name and ZIP.

Use the prescription or medication label. Don’t guess—choose “I’m not sure” instead.

How it works

Search. Compare. Confirm.

Three steps from “I can’t find it” to a clear next move.

  1. Tell Phil what you need

Enter the medication and ZIP code. Add the strength, form, and quantity from your label when you have them. If you’re unsure, say so; we won’t guess.

  2. See who may be able to help

Compare pharmacies, price types, and what each one has actually confirmed. Each result is labeled: a possible match, a pharmacy reply, or confirmed stock.

  3. Know your next step

Ask the pharmacy to confirm the exact medication, current stock, final price, and next steps before travel, transfer, or payment.

You choose the pharmacy

Two ways a pharmacy can help

Try a new pharmacy, or stay with the one you already use. It’s your call.

Path A

A pharmacy already has it

The pharmacy confirms stock and price for your exact prescription. You get a clear next step: pick it up, ask about delivery, or have your prescriber send the prescription there.

Path B

Your pharmacy checks a supplier

A participating pharmacy that doesn’t have it on hand can choose to check, through InStockRx, whether another licensed pharmacy can supply it. The pharmacy decides. You see progress, not purchase details.

A supplier listing isn’t stock for you, an insurance approval, or a promise the purchase will happen.

Phil’s promise

I only tell you what a pharmacy has actually confirmed. If something is still pending, I’ll say so, and I’ll tell you who acts next. More about how it works

Delivery and mail options appear only when a pharmacy offers them. FreeMedFinder doesn’t dispense, ship, or reserve medication.

What to expect

  • Free, no account to start

Search without signing up. Add an email only to save or follow a request.

  • Clear about the limits

FreeMedFinder does not prescribe, dispense, reserve, or guarantee medication availability.

  • The pharmacy confirms

Stock, final price, and pickup or delivery come from the pharmacy, never from a guess.

Cash, insurance, or savings

Know what kind of price you’re seeing

Every price is labeled with its type and source.

Cash quote

A price a pharmacy sends for your exact prescription when you pay without insurance.

Shows: The pharmacy, the price, and when it was sent. Quotes can expire.

Keep in mind: A quote doesn’t hold or reserve the medication.

Insurance review

A pharmacy checks stock and whether it can run your plan.

Shows: Whether the pharmacy is willing to review your insurance.

Keep in mind: Your copay comes from your plan when the pharmacy runs the claim. We don’t show copays or coverage decisions.

Savings estimate

A discount-card price at a nearby pharmacy for an exact package.

Shows: The price source, pharmacy, package, and how long the price is valid.

Keep in mind: It isn’t insurance, can’t be combined with your plan, and doesn’t confirm stock.

Prototype results, prices, and pharmacy replies are simulated. Confirm the exact medication, stock, final price, and pickup or delivery with the pharmacy before acting.
